Aluminum, cardboard, glass.
Save the earth by recycling instead of putting it into a landfill.
Then my next memory is of pollution.
Our ozone, Our atmosphere, Global warming...
What gets me the most about Cannabis Prohibition is that more than 2/3 of these problems can be dramatically reduced or even eliminated by the use of Cannabis Hemp.
Plastic is a huge one to me. From Saran wrap, ZipLock bags and water bottles, to army guys and Barbie doll parts, to the seats and panels of your car... any size and shape of plastic can be made from cellulose taken from hemp. We throw so much of our plastic into the ground, it's disgusting. Although 1 ton of plastic that is recycled saves 7.4 cubic yards of landfill space, only 27% of Americans recycle plastic. Using plastics made from biodegradable hemp would make recycling plastic obsolete.
And plastic made from hemp is stronger and lighter than steel.
Imagine the impact that could have on automobile collisions...
The same with paper. Any quality of paper, including cardboard... as well as many construction materials can be made from Cannabis Hemp. Hemp is such a fast growing renewable resource, the need to cut down so many trees and to recycle paper products would be eliminated. Instead of destroying the homes of some of the most distinct animals species on the planet, we could use hemp... which grows over 6' tall in less than 4 months... unlike trees which take tens to hundreds of years to mature.
Then we come to pollution. A lot of our pollution comes from the gasoline we use in our automobiles. Using renewable, sustainable hemp biofuel, we can end our dependence on fossil fuels completely.
1 Acre of Hemp = 20 Barrels of Oil
So what is going on America? Everyone wants to GO GREEN. Isn't using Cannabis as a way to do so at least worth talking about?
